For fashion designer Paula Hian, Paris is an obvious choice. "I could easily live in the French capital," she confides softly. This creator frequents France in search of the mohair, silk, satin and leather that she favors. "I come regularly to Europe for the sensuousness that exists here."
Paula, daughter of a photographer and a classical musician, had begun drawing, cutting, and using a sewing machine by the age of 5 in her Philadelphia home. "I already liked all the architectural forms." Paula majored in art history at Northwestern University. Upon graduation, she then enrolled in New York's Fashion Institute of Technology.
